 Sporting Group

Labrador Retriever – The undisputed heavyweight champion of popular dog breeds, the Labrador Retriever has topped the American Kennel Club’s list of popular breeds for 23 consecutive years. There’s no such thing as a typical Lab owner but they thrive in families that give them plenty of time to play and exercise.


German Shepherd Dog – Renowned for their loyalty to their families, German Shepherds are popular because they give a sense of security to their owners. They also make great companions and excel in obedience training.


German Shorthaired Pointer – Although it hails from Germany, the German Shorthaired Pointer embodies the American spirit. This breed loves nothing more than a hard days work in the field followed by a night watching TV on the couch with the family.


Golden Retriever – The movie Homeward Bound perfectly captured the Golden Retriever’s personality with the character Shadow. Along with the Beagle, this breed is known for its mellow temperament and friendliness towards both people and animals.


Hound Dog Group

Dachshund – Originally bred to hunt badgers underground, the Dachshund now plays the role of family pet. They are popular because of their unique look and tenacious personality.


Beagle – A longtime favorite breed, the Beagle is the perfect dog for children. They are aloof and friendly at the same time, and have an unbelievable tolerance for the rowdiness of kids.


Working Group

Boxer – The Boxer was originally bred as an indoor guard dog and while they can look fearsome, the experiment was a total failure. Boxers are the clowns of the dog world and develop a deep bond with their family. They are unusually quiet and more likely to pounce on an intruder and lick them instead of fighting them off. Boxer owners fall in love with the breed and cannot imagine owning any other.


Rottweiler – Similar to German Shepherds, Rottweilers make excellent guard dogs. They are take their role as the family defender very seriously and have been known to herd children away from situations that they perceive as dangerous.

Poodle – The Poodle is an affectionate and intelligent breed. They thrive in environments where they are constantly challenged mentally and physically. The combination of intelligence and a unique look make them a perennial favorite.


Bulldog – The fierce looking mascot of dozens of sports teams is actually a goofball. Bulldogs are loving animals that enjoy chilling in your lap or playing a game of tug of war.


Terrier Group

Yorkshire Terrier – The Yorkie is the king of cute. They are a handful at times but their families love the stubborn but loving personality. There are plenty of things that are good about Yorkies but lets face it, they are constantly in the top 10 because they are adorable.
